In recognition of honoring the most influential and visionary women in business, Anoja Basnayake, Director of Information Technology of A. Baur & Co. (Pvt.) Ltd, widely known as Baurs, was honoured at the recent Global CEO Top Businesswomen Awards 2025, held on 25 June at The Hilton Colombo under the theme ‘Celebrating Power, Purpose, and Pioneering Success.’

Debuting as the first ever awards ceremony of its kind, the event was attended by over 400 C-level executives across diverse industry sectors, coming together to celebrate exceptional women leaders who are transforming business through innovation, resilience, and purpose.

Anoja was recognised for her outstanding leadership in digital transformation and her enduring impact on Sri Lanka’s corporate sector. With a career spanning over two decades, she has led Baurs’ journey into becoming a digitally future-ready conglomerate, introducing cloud-first strategies, data-driven decision-making, and inclusive tech practices.

She was the project director at Baurs overseeing the implementation and migration of SAP S/4 HANA 2020 on cloud deployment with SAP Analytics Cloud Live reporting, making it the first company in Sri Lanka to do so at that time.
